An IPhone 4 Case Fixes The IPhone 4 Antenna Issues – Consumer Reports Confirms.
There have been thousands of reports and articles from iPhone 4 owners about the iPhone 4 and the signal issues they are experiencing. The issues that everyone is reporting have to do with a total loss of signal and data service on the iPhone 4 while browsing the internet or making a call, and in some cases when the phone is just sitting and not in use.
All things seem to lead to the way you hold your iPhone. The iPhone 4 reception issue. While it sounds absolutely ridiculous for such an amazing device, unfortunately it is true.I use my iPhone 4 more than the average cell phone user, some days spending up to 6 hours on the phone with customers, clients and friends. When the iPhone 4 is held a certain way (which in all honesty seems to be the proper way to hold it), there's a complete loss of signal. The display of the signal bars on the phone drop from a full 4 or 5 bars right down to nothing and your calls are immediately dropped.
Apple has been extremely slow in even talking about or responding to this problem, stating just recently that a software update to iOS 4 will correct the problem of the signal bars showing incorrect signal quality. The only word from Apple is not to hold the iPhone that way, and this is supposed to be the only reason for the dropped bars and dropped calls people are expriencing.
There is a quick fix out there for this issue, and it has to do with having an iPhone 4 case on your iPhone.By putting your iPhone 4 in a case you won't have any of the reception issues at all, and your calls won't drop any more. It is yet another indication that there is in fact something very wrong with the internal design of the iPhone 4 itself. To be honest with you I have always been a very firm believer in protecting any gadget I have, including my iPhone 4 by putting it in a case.it is a very expensive item, so spending just $10.00 - $20.00 on a case that protects your iPhone just makes sense. I definitely don't want to put dents or bumps on my iPhone 4, but I can't help but be bothered by this issue that has gone away since I put the iPhone 4 in a case, because the issue shouldn't be there to begin with.
The popular gadget news blog Gizmodo has posted about a rumored Apple silent recall for the iPhone 4 for select iPhone 4 owners.Swapping out their iPhone 4 with a new one from Apple, and as such, the signal and antenna issue does not seem to be a problem on the swapped out iPhone 4's. It's important for me to say that this "silent recall" is only speculation - and not something that comes right from the mouth of Apple themselves. But some customers have reported the issue disappearing on their replacement units. While others continue to have a problem, unless of course, they put their iPhone 4 back in an iPhone case again.
