Do You Think Landlines Will Become Extinct In The Near Future Because Of Cell Phones?

How long do you think it will take?

i think it is highly probable, as you can see more and more people are not talking as much as they are texting or IM-ing between friends, relatives, etc... and often times it is much more cost wise to go with a cell phone rather than a landline.

No way. I pay an employee’s salary at Telstra with the amount of time I talk on the phone. They will never become extinct.

It will take a while, however, it’s already occurring. I think the last time I read on article on this was that as of 2006, 30% of US households no longer had a landline. I assume that will double within 10 years.

Maybe it will happen, but I don’t think it will happen any time soon.
