Help! Olive Oil!?
I was in Greece last week and I bought several bottles of VERY good olive oil (each bottle was 500 ml and cost 18 euro, about $30 USD). How long is the oil still fresh? If it lasts a long time I would like to keep a bottle sealed but I know that it will go rancid at some point, how long do I have? This oil is fresh-pressed extra virgin olive oil from Kalamata.
Keep it in a dark, cool place and it should last a long time. Light is bad for quality olive oils.
