Mom needs to know, What a 1971 Sprint SX motorcycle would be worth?
She says it is not in mint condition and that it needs a "valve job". So about how much would this be worth?
She wanted to know because her friend is selling one and he wanted to know the value. She says It's in a good condition, and it is complete the only problem with it is that it needs a valve job...
She isn't buying it at all.
The aermacchi "sprint" motorcycles were imported by Harley Davidson, from italy. they are difficult to find parts for. They can be collectors items, and can bring in a bit of money, if they are complete. I've seen them go any where from a few hundred dollars, to 4 and 5 thousand.If Mom is thinking of buying it as a toy for a kid, I would look for something a little easier to find parts for. if she is thinking of selling it for some extra christmas cash, I would search out one of the many forums where sprint fans would be more likely to give her more money for it. www.hdsprint.com is one . There is kind of a cult following for them. partly I think because of the Harley lineage, and partly because those of us that were kids when they were new, can afford one finally! or maybe we just want a piece of our youth
